Who You Help

Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre provides support, knowledge, and hope for anyone impacted by cancer. Your 50/50 ticket purchase allows Hearth Place to continue to offer all programs and services free of charge - whether people are dealing with the news of a cancer diagnosis, supporting a loved one through cancer treatment, or grieving the loss of a loved one to cancer. Programs are available for all ages and walks of life.

Rules of Play

Lottery License #RAF1228903

  1. The lottery will take place online only. All times for campaigns will be based on the Eastern Time Zone.
    1. Campaign #1: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on January 12, 2022 to February 8, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on February 9, 2022 at 10:00 am.
      • Campaign #1 will have a guaranteed prize of $1,000 (when the ticket sales exceed $2,000, the winning prize will be half of the sales).
    2. Campaign #2: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on March 9, 2022 to April 5, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on April 6, 2022 at 10:00 am.
      • Campaign #2 will have a guaranteed prize of $1,000 (when the ticket sales exceed $2,000, the winning prize will be half of the sales).
    3. Campaign #3: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on May 11, 2022 to June 7, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on June 8, 2022 at 10:00 am.
    4. Campaign #4: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on July 13, 2022 to August 9, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on August 10, 2022 at 10:00 am.
    5. Campaign #5: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on September 14, 2022 to October 11, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on October 12, 2022 at 10:00 am.
    6. Campaign #6: Ticket Sales – Starting at 9:00 am on November 9, 2022 to December 6, 2022 until 11:59 pm. Draw to take place on December 7, 2022 at 10:00 am.
  2. All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older.
  3. Must be in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
  4. This lottery is operated under lottery license No. RAF1228903 issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  5. Tickets are 5 for $10, 40 for $20, or 200 for $40.
  6. Tickets will be available at online at www.hearth5050.ca
  7. Tickets will be sold using electronic raffle system supplied by Ascend Fundraising Solutions.
  8. After buying, patrons will receive a confirmation e-mailed with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
  9. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.
  10. The amount of the 50/50 will be available on www.hearth5050.ca.
  11. The winning number will be announced on all social media channels and www.hearth5050.ca after the winner is contacted via phone.
  12. The winner may claim their prize by contacting Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre at: (905) 579-4833, or by email at: events@hearthplace.org. The winner may then bring the ticket to 86 Colborne Street West, Oshawa ON L1G 1L7 or produce the original email and PDF of the ticket along with a scanned image of a valid piece of government issued ID to events@hearthplace.org for ticket verification. The winner will then be paid by cheque for the amount posted at the event for which they bought their ticket. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque.
  13. The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for.
  14. The winner agrees to the use of their name and likeness in perpetuity for announcement/publicity/video purposes by Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre and sponsors.
  15. The winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet.
  16. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
  17. In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning stub will kept in a safety deposit box and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed the prize will be donated to a charity other than Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre, with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
  18. The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the 50/50 draws: Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre Board of Directors and staff involved in the planning and execution of the draw, as well as their family members living in the same household, are not permitted to purchase tickets and are not eligible to win.
